Passionate about people and stories, Brett graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 2009.
Brett starred in the Australian indie feature film All About E playing Matt, a role which saw him transform into an overweight, irish, redhead. Brett's other film credits include Before the Rain and Jimmy Tennison; the short films Myselves, Gaza Strip, Somedays, Dark Decisions and City Limits; the animated short The Egg, and numerous commercials. Brett has also appeared in the ABC TV series Big City and Rake.
At NIDA, Brett performed in a range of productions directed by some of Australia’s most respected directors, including Kate Cherry, Gale Edwards and Darren Gilshenan. Originally from Tasmania, Brett appeared for companies such as Big Monkey, Hobart Rep and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra before studying at NIDA.
Since graduating Brett has toured extensively with Terrapin Puppet Theatre company performing in Boats which in 2012 won a Helpmann award for Best Children's Production. He has also featured in The New Theatres production of The little Dog Laughed, The Knowledge for Pantsguys productions and Trolley Boys for the Tamarama Rock Surfers.
Brett's passion for acting has extended into years of tutoring and coaching both adults and youth, as well as facilitating and designing drama courses for adults with an intellectual disability.
In 2016 Brett was a recipient of the Mike Walsh Fellowship.
